Computer Technology Program
Computer class is offered at Daarul Uloom once a week to students in grades Kindergarten through 8. Younger students will learn the basics of computer use, operation, and keyboarding skills through fun and education games. Students will also learn the ability to recognize and use basic hardware while working their way up to the ability to perform operations in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Along the way students are taught essential computer skills such as keyboarding, word processing, ethics of using a computer, appropriate internet use and safety, and a host of other basic computer knowledge that is essential in today’s growing dependence on computer technology.

Physical Education Program
Daarul Uloom Islamic School has a well developed Physical Education program. Our Physical Education classes are led by Coach Elsayed Emara, an instructor who has a great deal of experience working with children in the field of sports.
All students at Daarul Uloom participate in Physical Education (PE) once per week. Organized physical education is required of the elementary students. The goal is to keep students active for an entire period. We do not view PE as recess. For our elementary students, it is a time for students to participate in organized “play with specific educational goals in mind”. These goals include fundamental movement skills, spatial awareness, and proper form with regard to basic skills. Students are also expected to learn the basics of nutrition, cooperation, self-control, rules, and of course the fun of athletic participation.
The middle and high school program is more rigorous. While attempting to instill those same qualities as the elementary students, Coach Emara conducts workouts such as running and stretching exercises, learning the rules of team sports, and challenging the students to make exercise a part of their daily lives.
