Registration

Daarul Uloom Islamic School is a full-time school and provides instruction from Pre-K1 to 8th grade. Admission is open throughout the year. Registration is conducted in spring for both new and continuing students. May Allah (swt) accept our efforts and include us among those parents who have fulfilled their obligations towards their children’s education. Ameen!

Daarul Uloom Islamic School admits student of any race, gender, or religion to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to its students.  Accordingly, Daarul Uloom does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender or religion in administration of its educational policies, admissions, and programs.

We do not have the special needs resources for specialized instruction; hence we cannot accept students who need certain services. Any student found to need specialized services may be asked to withdraw from DU and to enroll in such schools/institutions that can provide those services.

Application and Supporting Documents

Students will not be admitted to classes without the proper age verification, previous school records (if needed), and immunization records.  The admission procedure is as follows:

Registration forms are to be completed, signed by parents, and submitted with the non-refundable registration fees.  The following completed forms are also required:

Student information

  • Health information
  • Tuition fees agreement

Along with the registration forms, the following documents will be required:

  • Birth certificate
  • Previous school records/end of year academic record
  • Up-to-date immunization and/physical health examination records
  • Psychological/social/developmental reports, and any other relevant information
  • Allergy and/or any medical condition

Transfer Students

Students who transfer to Daarul Uloom Islamic School will be accepted in the grade he/she is transferred to with grade appropriate age.  Student must display a keen interest in learning and adhere to the school rules and requirements.

The parents of transfer students must submit the request for report cards and other relevant documents from the previous school. Parents who are transferring their child but do not meet the age-appropriate cutoff date, must apply for a waiver. 

The request for a waiver will be determined by:

1)      Documents which prove that the child is in that grade submitted at the time of application.

2)      Student’s performance on either the School Readiness or the Placement Test.

The students who meet these criteria will be placed at the grade transferred from (or promoted to) and placed on a two (2) month probation period. The student will be carefully evaluated by the teacher(s) for any academic problems. Parents will be notified that the child will be placed in the age appropriate grade if it is recognized that the child has no academic difficulty.

Students must meet all of the above criteria in order for the waiver to be approved.  Transfer students will be accepted any time of the year. He/she will have to take the Placement Test and take the regular test of the grade he/she is placed. The student will also have to meet the criteria for promotion.

Admission Age Requirements

Registrants for Pre-K1 MUST be 3 years old and completely potty trained

**Registrants for Pre-K2 MUST be 4 years old by September 1st

**Registrants for Kindergarten MUST be 5 years by September 1st

**Registrants for 1st Grade MUST be 6 years by September 1st

 

**Students meeting the Sep 1st cutoff date will be considered first for admission. If seats are available, the students between Sep 1st and Oct 1st will be considered for admission.
