For the past 20 years, the Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Bradley University hosts the yearly Bridge-Pal competition, a balsa-bridge-building contest open to area middle and high school students and designed to "foster an interest in engineering among area middle and high school students and help (Bradley ECE) students understand the value of good citizenship and service". As part of the contest, students (in groups of up to four) design their own bridge to meet specific criteria, meet with a Bradley CEC student to discuss their design and perform a computerized stress analysis of it, and then construct it over a period of 3 months.

We have eight teams from the High School participating in the Bradley Bridge-Pal competition at Northwood Mall this Saturday, February 22.
