The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) encouraged swimming as part of his teachings, emphasizing its importance in Islamic culture.
He stated, “Teach your children swimming, archery, and horse riding” (Narrated by Umar ibn Al-Khattab)1.
This reflects the Prophet's belief in the benefits of physical fitness and the importance of teaching these skills to children
In a notable story, Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) encouraged Rukana, a prominent wrestler in Makkah,
to embrace Islam. Rukana, known for his strength, challenged Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) to a wrestling match,
and after Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) took him down, he said, "If you can take me down, I will believe in you"
Aisha narrated an incident where she raced the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) during a journey. Initially, she outran him, but later,
after gaining some weight, she raced him again and he won. The Prophet humorously remarked, "This is for that (previous) race!"
